Our colourful Harmony Day Celebration with the key message “EVERYONE BELONGS” was a hit with students, staff and families alike. During this very special assembly, we viewed our students’ multicultural art work and shared tasty food from across the globe. We were fascinated when a very talented staff member played a single-string percussion instrument, a musical bow, from Brazil called the ‘berimbau’ made from a dried, opened and hollowed-out, gourd (‘cabaça’). We were treated to African rhythms, when the Nuba Moro Group performed an energetic dance to the beat of African drums.   Everyone came away learning not only about our cultural diversity but also our not so surprising similarities in what we love: food, music and art.
