On Wednesday 21st March 2018 Burbridge School celebrated Harmony Day. This is a day about inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all Australians, regardless of cultural or linguistic background. It was a day to celebrate and experience all of our multi cultural backgrounds within Burbridge School. This was done through enjoying an array of different foods that staff and families kindly brought in to share. We tasted Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Australian and many more. The ceremony included two different dance performances being an Indian dance in traditional costumes and an African Drum Beat dance. Each class presented a beautiful display board showing the arts and crafts from different countries that students had worked on. There was a sensory table for our students to experience significant cultural items. All our students enjoyed the touch and feel activities and many of them chose to have their faces painted. Many staff and students dressed up for the day in their traditional costumes whilst others wore the colour orange to signify Harmony Day. Thank you to all our staff and Burbridge School families for helping to make our Harmony Day 2018 such a fun filled successful day!
