Life Skills Centre

Burbridge School is lucky to be able to offer students our specialised Life Skills Centre. The aim of this facility is to create simulated home environments that allow our students to practise the experience of various domestic scenarios, under the supervision of our staff.

The Life Skills Centre includes a sitting area, bed with bedding, a kitchen and laundry area. In these environments, students learn skills that are essential for independent-living such as cooking, using a washing machine, doing dishes, operating a microwave, making a bed and vacuuming.

The Life Skills Centre and the practical experiences the students have there, is a great example of our school’s focus on teaching knowledge and skills that make home life easier for the students and their families.
